Food in a Tin Can

While you are busy planning for Q4 and doing all kinds of optimizing and activating you should take a moment to contemplate this very cool restaurant idea in London - tincan London.  Serving the "best tinned seafood in the world" to its customers the pop up is to last just 6 months.

The food itself is certainly going to bring in the patrons during its existence but the beautiful simplicity of the restaurant layout is what I really like.  There is nothing inessential to the dining experience beyond those doors.  Tables, lights, food in tin cans and utensils.  And you can see in the Instagram pics that everyone has a smile on their face.

How does this relate to affiliate marketing if at all?  Simple:  Everyday our clients want data data data.  They want Excel file data dumps and trends and fancy reports showing cost projections if this publisher was bumped to a certain rev share or if another was removed entirely.

All for the end result of creating busy work that doesn't really provide any benefit to the program.  Everything they need to run an efficient program can fit neatly in a tin can.  Sales data by publisher, sales data specific to products, current promotions and upcoming placement opportunities.

There you go. Add in some year over year and month over month trending and it all fits in nicely.  The channel is so simple and yet advertisers time and again try to muddy the waters and make it more complicated than need be.

It can all fit in a can.  Maybe not as beautifully done as Tin Can London but close.
